Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the sailing trip, and are kids allowed?

A: There’s no strict age limit for the Windjammer Sailing Trip! Kids are definitely welcome, and it can be a great family outing. Just keep in mind that the boat may have some movement, so make sure younger ones are comfortable with that. The crew is really friendly and accommodating, which helps!

Q: What’s the best time to go on the sunset trip? Is it worth it?

A: The sunset trip is absolutely worth it! It typically starts around 5:30 PM, depending on the time of year. The views are stunning as the sun sets over Frenchman Bay. Plus, you get live music which adds to the ambiance. Just remember to check the weather beforehand to ensure a clear sky!

Q: What should I wear for the sailing trip? Any recommendations?

A: For the sailing trip, I’d recommend wearing layers! It can get breezy on the water, so a light jacket is a good idea. Comfortable shoes are a must since you’ll be moving around on the boat. Don't forget sunscreen and maybe a hat for sun protection. Enjoy the ride!

Just did the Windjammer sailing trip! What a fantastic experience!

I went on the sunset sailing trip last week in Bar Harbor, and it was incredible! The live musician really set the mood with some beautiful tunes. We saw seals and even a porpoise! Highly recommend getting a glass of wine to sip while you take in the views. Check the weather, though; it can get chilly out there. Can't wait to do it again or maybe gift it to my parents for their anniversary!

Thinking about gifting the Windjammer trip, any tips?

I’m considering getting the Windjammer sailing trip for my sister’s birthday. She loves the outdoors and Maine! What do you guys think? Is it good for someone who’s not super active? Also, how’s the sailing experience for someone who might get seasick easily?
