Q&A
A: There’s no strict age limit for kids, which is great! Kids under 5 can ride for free, while those 5 and older need a ticket. Just make sure they can handle a full day of exploring. It’s super flexible, so if the little ones get tired, you can always hop off and take a break.
A: You can definitely use your ticket on another day if it rains! Just keep an eye on the weather forecast. They typically don’t operate during severe weather, but light rain is usually fine. Just dress in layers—San Francisco can be chilly!
A: Layers are key! Even in summer, it can get pretty windy, especially near the water. Comfortable shoes are a must since you'll be getting off a lot to explore. I’d also recommend bringing a light jacket and sunscreen. Trust me, you’ll be exposed while on the top deck!

Considering the hop-on hop-off tour in SF for my parents—thoughts?
I’m thinking about getting my folks the hop-on hop-off bus tour in San Francisco since they love exploring. I know it visits all the famous spots like the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf, which they would totally enjoy. But, is it really worth the price? Also, how frequently do the buses come? Trying to make this a special day for them.
Loved the hop-on hop-off experience last weekend!
Just got back from the hop-on hop-off tour in SF and wow, it was awesome! We spent the whole day visiting Chinatown, checked out Lombard Street, and even saw the sea lions at Fisherman’s Wharf. The commentary on the bus was really interesting. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun way to see the city without rushing!
