Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for participants? Can kids join?

A: Yes, kids can join! The minimum age is usually around 8, but it's best to check with 1st Alaska Outdoor School directly. They’re pretty accommodating as long as the kids can handle the cold and sit still for the ride. Just make sure they’re dressed warm enough!

Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of the tour?

A: If the weather is severe, they’ll reschedule the tour for another day. Just make sure to keep an eye on the forecast and check your emails for updates from them. They want everyone to have a great experience, so they won’t take risks in bad conditions!

Q: Do I need to bring anything special for the tour?

A: Just dress warmly! Layers are your best friend, and don’t forget gloves and a good hat. They provide the sled and the dogs, and you’ll get some hot drinks afterward, which is perfect for warming up. Also, a camera for those snowy pics is a must!

Thinking of gifting the Dog Sledding Tour in Fairbanks! Any tips?

Hey everyone! I’m thinking about getting the 1-hr dog sledding tour in Fairbanks for my partner's birthday. The idea of zooming through all that snow sounds so cool! I’m curious about the experience, like how the dogs are treated and if it's safe. Also, what’s the best time to book it? Thanks!

Just did the dog sledding tour! Here’s my experience!

I went on the dog sledding tour last weekend and it was AMAZING! The scenery in Fairbanks is just breathtaking. The dogs were super friendly and clearly loved to run. We got to learn a bit about how it all works too, and the hot drinks at the end were so welcome. Totally worth it!
