Our nature activities are a great way to experience Hilton Head Island by water. We get up close and personal with the salt marsh, oysters, and, by far, the vast number of our tours will see bottlenose dolphins. The dolphins are, of course, wild animals, so they come and go as they please. But in the summer months, the experiences run at nearly 90% seeing dolphins, and even in the off-season, the percentages are very high as the bottlenose dolphin population lives in the area year-round. We occasionally see manatees in the warmer months and, on occasion, get lucky and see a loggerhead turtle, mink, otter, or bald eagle. It's a great experience for all ages, and as Trip Advisor shows, we have nearly all five stars and do our very best to show each and every guest a great time! All ages are welcome, as generally, we will do our best to split into multiple groups based on groups with or without kids, as well as different experience levels. Come join the fun!

Q&A

Q: Are there age restrictions for the kayak tour? Can kids join?

A: No age restrictions! This kayak tour is great for all ages. They actually encourage families and often split groups based on age and experience, so kids can have a fun time too. Just make sure to check the weather before you go, as that can affect the experience.

Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of our booking? Can we reschedule?

A: Yes, you can reschedule if the weather is bad. They’re pretty flexible with that since safety is their priority. Just make sure to contact them as soon as you know there’s a problem, and they’ll help you find another time that works. It’s good to check their cancellation policy too.

Q: What should we wear for the kayak tour? Any tips?

A: Light, breathable clothes are best! You might get splashed, so wearing a swimsuit under your clothes is a good idea. Don’t forget sunscreen and maybe a hat since you’ll be out in the sun for a bit. Flip-flops are fine, but something more secure like water shoes would be better for comfort.

Just did the dolphin kayak tour in Hilton Head - Amazing!

I went on the 2 1/4-hour private kayak tour last weekend and it was absolutely incredible! We saw so many dolphins swimming right next to us, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Our guide was super knowledgeable and made the experience even better. If you're looking to gift this to someone, they’ll love it! Just a heads up though, wear something you don’t mind getting wet!

Considering this kayak experience for my parents!

I’m thinking of getting the dolphin kayak tour for my parents' anniversary. They love nature and wildlife! Just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to see dolphins, or if there's a guarantee? Also, is it good for older folks?
