We are a surf school based on Venice Beach. Our goal is for you to have an excellent surfing experience, whether it's your first time trying surfing or you are trying to advance your skills. For the first 30–40 minutes, we will be training on the beach, and then it’s one hour with the instructors in the ocean. The remaining time is yours to practice your skills and have fun with the surfboards that we provide.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the surf lesson in Santa Monica?

A: Yes, the surf school generally welcomes participants aged 8 and up. Kids younger than that might struggle a bit with the surfboards and waves. You can always call ahead to double-check if your specific date has any restrictions. It's super fun for families!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the lesson?

A: If the weather looks rough, the surf school will typically reach out to you a few hours before the lesson to discuss options. They usually offer rescheduling for free, but check their policy when booking. Safety is their priority!

Q: Do you get to keep the wetsuit after the lesson?

A: Nope, the wetsuits are provided just for the lesson and you have to return them afterward. But they’re included in the fee, so no worries about extra costs there! They make sure you get a good fit before you head out.

Thinking about gifting a surf lesson in Santa Monica!

Hey everyone! I was looking into the 2-hour group surf lesson in Santa Monica from Fun Surf LA for a friend's birthday. It’s priced around $0 (which seems too good to be true). I love that it includes everything like wetsuits and surfboards! Has anyone done this? How was the instruction and the vibe at Venice Beach? Would love some insights!

Surfing lesson logistics: How's the parking situation?

I’m planning to take the 2-hour surf lesson this weekend at Santa Monica. I’ve heard parking can be a nightmare around there. Any tips on where to park or if it’s best to Uber? I’d hate to miss the lesson just because I couldn’t find a spot.
