Q&A
A: There isn't a strict age limit, but they recommend that kids be at least 5 years old to participate. Kids under 12 should be accompanied by an adult, of course. The crew is super helpful with beginners, so it's a great experience for families!
A: Definitely wear your swimsuit under your clothes! It can get a bit chilly in the water, so a rash guard or light wetsuit is helpful, but not required. Also, bring a towel and sunscreen—don’t forget the reef-safe stuff!
A: Parking at Kawaihae Harbor is pretty straightforward. There’s a lot available, and it’s free! Just get there a little early to snag a good spot, especially if it’s a busy day. They recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before departure.

Thinking about the Mauna Kea snorkel adventure for my family's trip!
Hey everyone! I'm planning a trip to Big Island and considering booking the Mauna Kea One Stop Sealife Snorkel Adventure. I've heard great things about it and love that it includes all the gear and snacks. How was your experience? Did you see turtles or dolphins? Any tips would be appreciated!
My experience on the Mauna Kea snorkel adventure!
Just got back from the Mauna Kea snorkel adventure and I have to say, it was a blast! The powerboat is really nice, and the crew made me feel safe even though I was a first-timer. The water was clear, and we saw dolphins jumping around. If you’re on the fence about it, go for it!
