All of our pottery experiences are one-time, two-hour sessions guided by local Santa Fe artists and geared toward travelers, newbies, and anyone looking for a fun introduction to pottery. At the end of class, students will recycle their pieces, but you need not walk away empty handed. Each student gets $15 off of a piece from our gallery, which is full of pottery handcrafted by our teachers. In the wheel-throwing experience, students will dive into the most popular method of making ceramics. Working at the wheel is a meditative, yet challenging process. In this two-hour class, our potters will take you through the process of throwing a piece of pottery on the wheel. In our hand-building experience, students will learn the ancient techniques of working with clay by hand through sculpting, coil-building, or slab-building. The slowness of these methods allow for deeper connection with the material and total freedom of expression through clay.

Q&A

Q: What age range is this pottery experience suitable for?

A: This pottery experience is great for all ages, but kids usually need to be around 8 or older to fully engage with the techniques. They can definitely join in on the fun! Just keep in mind that the wheel can be a bit tricky for younger kids, so if they're really little, sticking to hand-building might be better. Overall, it's a fun way to bond over creativity!

Q: What happens if the weather's bad? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather's really bad and classes need to be canceled, they'll reach out to you about rescheduling. They’ve got a pretty flexible policy for that! Just make sure to check the weather before heading over. Always good to stay updated on their class schedule.

Q: Is there parking available near the studio?

A: Yes, there's parking available near the studio, but it can fill up quickly during busy times. I recommend getting there a little early to snag a spot, especially on weekends. You might find street parking or a nearby lot, just keep your eyes peeled!

Thinking about taking a pottery class in Santa Fe! Any tips?

Hey everyone! I’m considering gifting my partner the 2-hour pottery experience at Paseo Pottery in Santa Fe. We both have zero experience, but I love the idea of hand-building. I heard they provide drinks which sounds fun! Should I be worried about the difficulty level? Also, what's the vibe like in the studio? Any tips would be appreciated!

Just finished the pottery class and it was awesome!

I just got back from the pottery experience at Paseo Pottery and wow, what an amazing time! I chose the wheel experience and it was challenging but so rewarding. The instructors were friendly, and the $15 off gallery pieces is a nice touch. Can't wait to grab something from their collection! Anyone else had a similar experience?
