Ojai has a 100-year history of ceramics. Our studio, located a mile from the city center, is surrounded by nature, in the midst of a fruit orchard. We are a working studio for many of the great artists in the Ojai Valley. Visitors may watch potters work, and may "try their hand" at a range of techniques. After making their pottery, they may may pay a small fee for our staff to trim, glaze and high-fire the work. This "finishing" work takes about 3 weeks. Visitors may also come back to glaze their OWN work. There is no charge for this. AND we will even ship your pieces anywhere in the country...

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this pottery workshop in Ojai? I'm thinking of bringing my 10-year-old nephew.

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but kids should be at least 8 to participate actively. It's really fun for younger ones, and they usually enjoy making something messy! Just keep in mind they might need a bit of extra help with the techniques. The studio is pretty laid back, so I think your nephew will have a great time!

Q: How does the shipping work for the finished pottery? What if I'm not local to Ojai?

A: No worries if you're not local! After your pottery is finished being fired and glazed, the studio will package it up and ship it right to you. Just provide them with your address, and they’ll take care of the rest. Prices vary based on weight and destination, but it’s super convenient!

Q: If the weather's bad, can we reschedule our pottery workshop?

A: Yes, you can definitely reschedule! The studio understands that weather can be unpredictable, especially in Ojai. Just reach out to them as soon as you know, and they'll help you find a new date. They’re really accommodating about it!

Thinking of gifting the pottery workshop in Ojai!

Hey everyone! I'm looking to get my sister a pottery workshop for her birthday in Ojai. She loves artsy stuff, and I think she’d have a blast creating something from scratch. I saw that the workshop includes all the clay and tools. Is it true that you can go back to glaze your own pieces? How was your experience there?

Just got back from the pottery workshop!

OMG, I just did the pottery workshop in Ojai last weekend! It was such a fun way to spend a couple of hours. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by orchards. I made a cute bowl, and I can't wait to see how it turns out after firing! Definitely recommend this for anyone looking to try something new.
