Q&A
A: Yes, kids can definitely join! Wavehuggers encourages participants of all ages. Just keep in mind that younger kids might need a bit more assistance, but the instructors are great with them. It’s a really fun way to introduce them to surfing while teaching safety and ocean respect.
A: If weather conditions aren't safe, Wavehuggers will reschedule your lesson. They monitor the surf and weather closely. I had to change my lesson due to rain, and it was super easy to set up a new date. Just make sure to keep an eye on your email for updates!
A: Wavehuggers provides wetsuits that keep you warm even in cooler weather! Just wear your swimsuit underneath and maybe bring a light jacket for before or after the lesson. The wetsuits are super comfy and are a must-have for a good time on the water.

Thinking about gifting a surf lesson in Santa Monica, any tips?
I’m considering this 2-hour private surf lesson from Wavehuggers for my boyfriend's birthday! He’s never surfed before, but I think it’d be a great experience. The instructors are CPR-certified, which makes me feel better. What's it like? Any must-knows before I book it?
Has anyone done the surf lesson? How was it?
I’m looking into this private surf lesson at Santa Monica. I'm a total beginner, but excited! I know they provide the wetsuit and board, but is it easy to catch waves? Also, is it crowded out there? I want to enjoy it, not be slammed by other surfers!
