Q&A
A: The surf lessons are great for all ages! Kids as young as 5 can join in, but it really depends on their comfort level in the water. If you’re buying for someone older, just make sure they're comfortable with some basic swimming. Wavehuggers focuses on safety and fun, so they’ll take good care of everyone.
A: Yes, you can reschedule! Wavehuggers will contact you if conditions aren’t safe, and you’ll have the option to pick another day. Just make sure to give them a call or email to set it up. They’re super accommodating about it!
A: Wear a swimsuit for sure! You’ll get wet, and trust me, you want to be comfortable. Wavehuggers provides wetsuits, which are great for keeping warm, but I’d also recommend bringing a light jacket for before or after since it can get a bit breezy at the beach. Don't forget sunscreen!

Thinking about gifting a surf lesson at Manhattan Beach!
I’m considering getting my brother a private surf lesson with Wavehuggers in Manhattan Beach for his birthday. He loves the ocean but has never surfed before. I’m curious if anyone has experience with this particular school? How do the instructors handle beginners? Also, what’s the vibe like at the beach there?
Anyone here taken a private surf lesson?
I just signed up for a private surf lesson at Manhattan Beach with Wavehuggers, and I'm so excited! I’m not a total beginner, but I want to improve my skills. Can anyone share what I should expect? How many people are usually in a class? I hope it’s a small group.
