Q&A
A: Yes, kids as young as 8 can join the lessons! They just need to be comfortable in the water. The instructors are super patient, and they have a lot of experience teaching younger surfers. Just make sure they know how to swim a bit, and they’ll have a blast!
A: If the weather looks bad, they usually reach out to reschedule your lesson. Safety first! They’ll work with you to find a new time that works. Just make sure you keep an eye on the weather forecasts before your session.
A: You’ll want to wear a swimsuit under the wetsuit they provide. Make sure it’s something you’re comfy moving in! Also, flip-flops for walking to the beach are a good idea. They’ll take care of the wetsuit, which is super snug and warm.

Thinking about gifting a surf lesson in Santa Monica!
Hey everyone! I’m considering getting my partner a private surf lesson at Badass Surf School in Santa Monica for their birthday. I love that they focus on teaching how to read waves, not just standing up. But I'm a bit worried about their comfort in the water. Has anyone done this? What’s it like as a beginner? Any tips?
Just completed the surf lesson and it was epic!
OMG, I just finished my two-hour private lesson at Badass Surf School, and I can’t recommend it enough! The instructors are seriously awesome at breaking down the basics. I actually caught a few small waves! They gave me a custom board that made it way easier. If you're thinking about it, just go for it!
