Q&A

Q: What should I wear for the driving tour in Hoonah? Is it cold?

A: Dress in layers! The weather can be unpredictable, so a light jacket and comfortable shoes are a must. It could get chilly, especially if you're stopping to walk around. Also, don't forget a hat and sunglasses to protect against glare from the water. Oh, and bring a camera—you'll want to capture the stunning views!

Q: Are there any age limits for this tour? Can kids go?

A: Great question! There aren't any strict age limits, and kids are welcome. It's a comfortable experience for families, and they’ll enjoy the wildlife sightings as much as the adults. Just keep in mind that younger kids might need a little help on the short walks, but overall it's suitable for all ages.

Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of the tour? Do they reschedule?

A: If the weather doesn’t cooperate, they usually offer to reschedule. It's pretty common in Alaska to have unpredictable weather, so they understand! Just make sure to check their cancellation and rescheduling policy when you book. They’re pretty flexible, and you won’t lose your money if you need to change plans.

Thinking of gifting the 3 hour driving tour in Hoonah! Thoughts?

I’m considering this tour for my brother's birthday. He’s super into nature and wildlife, and I think he’d love the guided experience with local insights. Has anyone done it? What was the best part? I wanna make sure it’s worth it before I lock it in. It says there are short walks involved—how strenuous are they?

Just got back from the driving tour in Hoonah!

OMG, this tour was a highlight of my trip to Alaska! The guides were so friendly and really shared a lot of cool stories about Hoonah. We saw a ton of wildlife, including bears from a distance! The scenery was unreal. Just a heads-up, if you're going, bring snacks because it’s a while before you get back. Definitely recommend it as a gift!
