Q&A

Q: Are there any age restrictions for this tour? Can kids join?

A: There aren't strict age limits for the tour, so kids are welcome! However, it's recommended they be at least 5 years old to fully enjoy the experience and keep up with the hike. Just be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks for them. It can get hot out there!

Q: What's the best time of year to do this canyon tour?

A: The best time to visit is definitely from late spring to early fall. The weather is warm, but not too hot for hiking. Just keep in mind that summer can be a bit crowded. Also, check the forecast because rain can occasionally affect tours.

Q: How does parking work at Canyon de Chelly? Is it easy to find?

A: Parking is pretty straightforward! There's a designated area near the visitor center where you can park for free. It gets a bit busy during peak times, but I've never had trouble finding a spot. Just make sure to arrive a bit early to account for that!

Just booked the 3-hour private canyon tour! Any tips?

Hey everyone! I just booked the canyon tour at Canyon de Chelly for my family next month and I'm super excited! It's a private tour, so I'm hoping we get a lot of personalized info from our guide. I read that the guides are all Navajo and share amazing stories about the petroglyphs and history. Any tips on what to bring or wear? Will sneakers be okay?

Just finished the canyon tour—what an experience!

I just got back from the 3-hour private canyon tour, and wow, it was incredible! Our guide, who was Navajo, shared so many fascinating stories about the petroglyphs and the history of the area. The views are breathtaking, especially at the canyon walls. Just a heads up, bring water as it can get warm, and wear sturdy shoes. Totally worth it!
