Q&A

Q: Is there a weight limit for the kitesurfing lesson?

A: There isn't a strict weight limit, but most instructors recommend being between 100-250 lbs for the best experience. The equipment is designed to hold varying weights, but if you're on the higher end, you may want to check with SoCal Kitesurfing directly. They can help make sure you have the right gear for your size!

Q: What should I wear for the kitesurfing lesson?

A: Wear a swimsuit or board shorts, and a rash guard is a good idea since you’ll be in the water a lot. Don’t forget to put on sunscreen! The rental gear comes with everything else you’ll need, including a wetsuit if it’s chilly, but personal items like sunglasses or hats should be secured.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the lesson day?

A: If the weather isn’t suitable for kitesurfing, they’ll usually reschedule your lesson. SoCal Kitesurfing is pretty flexible with that. You just need to contact them ahead of time, and they’ll work with you to find a new date that works.

Thinking about gifting the kitesurfing lesson! Any thoughts?

Hey everyone! I’m considering gifting a 3-hour private kitesurfing lesson in Long Beach to my boyfriend. He loves water sports but has never tried kitesurfing. I think this could be an awesome experience for him! Anyone done this? What’s the instructor like? I just want to make sure it’s worth it.

Just completed my kitesurfing lesson!

Wow, I just finished the 3-hour private kitesurfing lesson and it was beyond what I expected! The beach in Long Beach was perfect and the instructor spent a ton of time teaching me the basics. I even got to try flying the kite! Can't wait to get my Level 1 Kiter Certification. Definitely recommend it as a gift!
