Q&A

Q: What's the best time of year for this fly fishing experience?

A: The best time to go fly fishing on the Upper Colorado River is typically from late spring to early fall, around May to September. This is when the fish are most active and the weather is pleasant. But honestly, it can be good year-round depending on the conditions, so just check the local forecast before you go!

Q: Are there any age restrictions for kids on this trip?

A: Yes, the minimum age for this experience is 5. It’s perfect for families! Just be sure your kids can handle a few hours of wading and fishing. The guides are great with younger anglers and can help them get the hang of it.

Q: What should I wear for this fly fishing trip?

A: Definitely wear quick-dry clothing and good water shoes or sandals. It's going to be wet, so you want to stay comfortable! And don't forget a hat and sunglasses for sun protection; it gets bright out there.

I’m considering the 3 Hour Walk and Wade Fly Fishing on the Colorado River as a gift for my boyfriend. He’s never been fly fishing, but he loves the outdoors and I'm hoping this would be an epic date! Is this experience worth it? What can we expect? Any tips for first-timers?

What to expect during the Colorado River fly fishing trip?

I’m planning to take my dad on this fly fishing trip for his birthday! He’s into fishing, but I have no clue what to expect since I’ve never fished before. What’s the vibe like? Should I be worried about being a total newbie?
