Q&A

Q: Are there age limits for the whale watching tour?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids under 3 might not enjoy it much since they won’t understand the commentary. The tour is family-friendly, and many families take their kids along. Just be sure to bring jackets, as it can get chilly on the water!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Do they cancel?

A: Yes, they will cancel the tour if the weather is unsafe, and you can reschedule or get a refund. They’re pretty good about keeping you updated on the conditions ahead of time, though!

Q: What should we wear on the whale watching tour?

A: Dress in layers! It can be sunny in Monterey but pretty chilly once you’re out on the water. A light jacket and comfortable shoes are a must. Don't forget sunblock and hats if you’re sensitive to the sun!

Just booked the whale watching tour in Monterey!

I’m so excited! I got the 3-hour whale watching tour from Discovery Whale Watch for my mom's birthday. She’s obsessed with marine life, and I think she’s gonna love the commentary from the marine biologist. I hope we see some dolphins and maybe even a humpback! Has anyone done this before? Any tips?

Thinking about getting a whale watching tour as a gift!

I’m considering buying a whale watching tour for my sister and her fiancé. They love the ocean and go to Monterey often. Is the commentary actually interesting? I want them to have a good time!
