Enjoy a breathtaking flight from Seattle's Lake Washington to San Juan Island aboard one of our classic 6-passenger Dehavilland Beaver seaplanes. Experience views of the Puget Sound, the Seattle Skyline and finally the beautiful San Juan Islands before the splash-down landing in Friday Harbor, Roche Harbor, or both! Our scenic flights are generally flown at 500 to 2000 feet above the ground with at least two seaplane water landings. A two hour round trip narrated seaplane tour flight, including taxi time. Time on ground on San Juan Island vary from 60 minutes on the 1pm and 2pm options and 40 minutes on the 4:45pm. Our tours give you an hour or less at either Friday Harbor or Roche Harbor to walk around and get a quick taste of the Island. This is a tour flight between San Juan Island and Seattle. The maximum time on the ground is either 40 to 60 minutes. This allows enough time to stretch and walk around the marina and use restrooms as needed.

Q&A

Q: How much time do you actually get on the San Juan Island once you land?

A: The time on the ground at San Juan Island varies based on the flight option you choose. For the 1pm and 2pm flights, you'll get about 60 minutes, while the 4:45pm flight gives you around 40 minutes. It's enough time to stretch your legs, grab a quick bite, or check out the marina, but don't expect a full island tour.

Q: What should we wear on the seaplane? Is it cold up there?

A: Dress in layers! It can get a bit chilly up in the air, especially when you're flying over the water. I recommend a light jacket and comfortable shoes since you'll be landing on the docks. And don't forget sunglasses for the views!

Q: Is there a weight limit for the seaplane? Asking for a friend!

A: Yes, there are weight restrictions due to safety regulations. Typically, the limit is around 250 lbs per passenger, but it's best to confirm with the airline when you book. If someone in your group is over that limit, you might need to adjust the seating arrangements.

Thinking about gifting the San Juan Island seaplane tour—worth it?

I’m looking for something special for my partner’s birthday and came across the 3-hour seaplane tour from Seattle. It sounds amazing! The views of the Puget Sound and the quick stop at Friday Harbor really caught my eye. But how is the overall experience? Is it romantic enough for a birthday surprise? Any tips?

I just booked the 2pm tour for next month and I’m so excited! I’ve heard great things about the views and the seaplane itself. What’s the best part of the experience? Should I plan to do anything specific while we’re on the island?
