Q&A
A: Definitely dress in layers! It can get pretty chilly out there, especially when you're moving at speed on the sled. I recommend wearing thermal underlayers, a good winter jacket, snow pants, and warm gloves. Don't forget a hat and scarf to keep your face warm! Also, boots with good traction are a must.
A: Yes, you can reschedule! The provider is pretty flexible with weather-related cancellations, but just make sure to contact them as early as possible. They want everyone to have a great time, so they’ll help you find a new date that works.
A: This experience is great for all ages, but kids need to be at least 6 years old to ride. Just make sure they can follow safety instructions from the guide. It's a fun way to introduce them to winter sports!

Just booked a dog sledding tour in Fairbanks! Any tips?
I'm so excited! I just booked the 30-minute dog sledding tour with 1st Alaska Outdoor School for next month. I’ve heard it’s an amazing experience, especially with the beautiful snowy scenery. What should I expect? Any tips for making the most out of it? Also, what’s the vibe like at the yurt afterward?
Anyone else done the dog sledding in Fairbanks? Share your experience!
I recently went on the 30-minute dog sledding tour in Fairbanks, and it was unreal! The dogs were so enthusiastic, and the scenery was straight out of a postcard. We got to take pics with the dogs and even learned a bit about how they train them. If you’re thinking about it, just do it! It’s worth every penny, and you get a nice warm drink at the end.
