Of all the trips we run, Private Charters run the farthest, spend the most time on the grounds, and provide the greatest flexibility to guests and guides. We send our most experienced captains on these trips because they demand high levels of creativity in targeting a combination of different species. Booking this trip gives you the freedom to define the experience. You may choose from a variety of vessels, target halibut, salmon, lingcod, rockfish, pacific cod, Dungeness crab, or chase sightseeing opportunities and wildlife. We also love to combine this fishing excursion with dining experiences featuring your fresh catch; either at our rustic fish camp deep in the National Forest; or a chef-prepared meal at our restaurant at the harbor after your return. This trip is about crafting an experience that will fit your unique needs and interests. When you book the boat, we look forward to working with you to build an unforgettable Alaskan adventure. You may have up to 6 anglers onboard.

Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for kids on the fishing charter?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but it’s really up to the parents to gauge if their kids can handle a fishing trip. They usually recommend kids be at least 8 years old to ensure they can follow instructions and stay safe. It’s a long day on the water, so just make sure they’re ready for it!

Q: Can you change the date after booking if the weather's bad?

A: Yes, they’re pretty flexible with rescheduling if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Just make sure to call them as soon as you know! They’re really good about finding a new date that works for you.

Q: What should I wear for a fishing charter in Ketchikan?

A: Layers are key! Even in the summer, it can get chilly out there. I'd recommend wearing a moisture-wicking base layer, a warm fleece, and a waterproof jacket. They'll provide rain gear, but it’s good to have your own comfy stuff underneath. Don’t forget a hat and sunglasses!

Just booked the 30' Private Fishing Charter in Ketchikan!

Hey everyone! I'm super excited. I just booked the private charter for my boyfriend’s birthday next month. We’re planning to target salmon and maybe some halibut. I love that you can choose to have a chef cook our catch afterwards! I’m just a bit nervous about the logistics—like parking and if we’ll need to bring our own food. Any tips?

Has anyone done the fishing charter? Need advice!

I’m thinking about getting this fishing charter as a gift for my dad. He loves fishing. Just wondering how difficult it is for beginners? I’ve never been on a fishing trip before, and I’m a little worried about keeping up. Also, any cool stories from the trip would be great!
