Q: What kind of physical shape do I need to be in for the Half Dome summit? I'm a bit out of shape and worried about the hike.

A: You don't need to be a super athlete, but a decent fitness level helps. The hike is challenging but rewarding! If you can hike 6-8 miles on moderate trails before this, you’ll be fine. They take breaks and help you along the way, so just pace yourself and enjoy the views!

A: Kids aged 12 and up can join this adventure. The Half Dome hike is strenuous, so it’s important they’re up for the challenge. I took my 14-year-old and it was an unforgettable experience! Just make sure they have the stamina and enthusiasm for hiking.

Q: Is it possible to reschedule if the weather doesn’t cooperate? What happens then?

I’m considering this for my brother’s birthday. He's been wanting to hike Half Dome for ages! I know it includes meals and gear but is there anything I should add to the packing list for him? Any must-have items? Also, how was the food? I want it to be a memorable trip for him!

Just got back from the Half Dome experience, and wow!

This was epic! The views from the top are unreal. We swam in the Merced River, and the granite waterslide was a blast! The guides were super helpful and made everything smooth. I highly recommend it if you're on the fence. Worth every penny! Bring extra socks for the wet stuff.
