Q: Is there an age limit for the kids on the private charter? My son is only 6.

A: No specific age limit, but they do recommend kids be at least 5 years old for the snorkeling part to ensure safety. The crew is great with kids, so they'll make sure everyone has fun. Just make sure your son can swim and is comfortable in the water. Bring a life vest if he needs one!

Q: What should we wear for the snorkeling part? Anything special?

A: Definitely wear your swimsuit and bring a towel! It's also a good idea to wear a rash guard or a cover-up for sun protection while snorkeling. Flip-flops for getting on and off the boat, but maybe bring water shoes if you plan to walk on rocky areas. Oh, and don't forget sunscreen!

Q: How easy is parking at the dock? I don’t want to stress about that before the trip.

A: Parking is pretty straightforward! There’s a lot near the dock, and it’s usually not too crowded, especially for morning charters. Just keep some quarters for the meter. If you arrive early, you can grab a coffee at one of the nearby places. Just allow a little extra time to find a spot!

I’m taking my partner on the 4-hour Kona Private Charter next month. We’re super excited about the snorkeling in Kealakekua Bay! I heard they have great wraps for lunch, and I’m hoping to see some dolphins. Anyone have tips for a first-timer?
