Q&A
A: Definitely wear something comfortable and beach-appropriate! You'll need to step into shallow water to get to Egmont Key, so flip-flops or water shoes are a good idea. Also, bring a swimsuit and maybe a cover-up if you want to walk around the island. Don't forget sunscreen – the sun can be pretty intense out there!
A: Parking can be a bit tricky, especially on weekends. The Pier has a parking garage, and it usually has spots, but it fills up fast. I recommend arriving early to snag a good spot. If you're looking to save, there's also street parking nearby, but read the signs carefully to avoid tickets!
A: Yes, kids can absolutely enjoy this experience! It's great for families, and the beach on Egmont Key is perfect for them to explore. I took my 6 and 8-year-olds, and they loved it. Just keep an eye on them near the water, and they’ll have a blast! There’s no age limit.

Just booked the ferry to Egmont Key! Any tips?
Hey everyone! I just snagged tickets for the 4-hour St. Pete Pier to Egmont Key experience for my family. We’re super excited about seeing the lighthouse and maybe some dolphins! Any must-see spots on the island or tips you guys can share? Also, should I pack a picnic or buy food there?
Amazing Day at Egmont Key!
Just got back from the ferry trip to Egmont Key! It was SO worth it. The ride under the Sunshine Skyway was breathtaking, and we saw dolphins! The beach was beautiful, and the kids loved the lighthouse. I really appreciated having access to bathrooms and shade on the island too. Highly recommend it as a gift or for a day out. Just don’t forget your water shoes!
