Q&A
A: Honestly, late spring to early fall is ideal for this tour! The weather's milder, and you'll get to see more wildlife. Plus, the views of the ocean are stunning. Just keep in mind weekends tend to be more crowded, so a weekday might be better if you're looking for a quieter experience.
A: There isn't a strict minimum age, but they recommend that kids should be at least 5 years old so they can appreciate the hike and stay engaged. It's a long day, so make sure they're ready for that! Also, it can be windy near the lighthouse, so a light jacket might be handy.
A: For the tour, definitely wear comfortable shoes since there’s a fair amount of walking, and layer your clothing! It can get chilly by the lighthouse even in summer, especially with ocean breezes. A hat and sunscreen are also good ideas since you’ll be outside for a while.

Just did the Lighthouse Tour on Fire Island and wow!
I went on the 6-hour Private Lighthouse Tour last week and it was amazing! The lighthouse is so iconic, and getting to learn about its history while taking in the views was a highlight. We saw some wildlife along the way too, including a few dolphins! I highly recommend bringing a camera. Anyone else been? What did you think?
Considering gifting the Lighthouse Tour for my parents!
I’m thinking about getting my parents the Lighthouse Tour experience for their anniversary. They love outdoor activities and have mentioned wanting to see Fire Island. Has anyone done this as a gift? How was the vibe? Any tips on scheduling?
