Q&A
A: There's no strict age limit for this tour, and kids are definitely welcome! Just keep in mind that the content may be more suitable for older kids and teens, given the historical themes. It could be a great learning experience for them! Just make sure they’re engaged enough to appreciate it.
A: If the weather looks bad, the tour provider usually contacts participants to reschedule for another day. They’ll do their best to work with you, so just keep an eye on your email. Since it's mostly a driving tour, it can still go ahead in light rain, but heavy downpours might change things.
A: You’ll mostly be in a vehicle, so casual and comfy clothing is perfect! There might be a few stops for photos or short walks, so wear something that allows you to move easily. Comfortable shoes are a must, especially if you get out to explore a bit. Houston can be pretty warm, so dress accordingly.

Thinking about gifting the African-American themed tour in Houston!
I’m really considering gifting this 7-hour African-American themed tour to my dad for his birthday. He loves history and music, and I think he’d appreciate the local aspect of it. The idea of watching videos, reading books about African-American Texans, and driving through the historic neighborhoods sounds amazing! Just curious if anyone’s gone on this tour and what their thoughts were?
Anyone else found this tour super informative?
I went on the African-American themed tour in Houston a few weeks ago and wow, it was eye-opening! The videos were super engaging, and I loved the little booklets we got to look through. The history of the Wards was really well covered, and I learned so much about the race riot at Memorial Park. Highly recommend it if you’re into history!
