Go on a horseback riding adventure with some real cowboys!! You'll go back in time to the 1800s on this trail ride that takes you into incredible hills and cactus filled deserts. Then have an amazing time with the western activities....learn how to shoot an arrow.... throw an axe... and try your hand at roping a steel calf. It's all in a day's work on the ranch! The lunch includes a hamburger, hot dog or grilled chicken, beans, corn on the cob, chips, dessert and unlimited soft drinks. NOTE: There are two outfitter locations mentioned in the listing. We go to ONE of those, depending on availability and season. Please note that during the hot summer months, this tour may be slightly different than described above.

Q: What's the age limit for the horseback riding part of this experience?

A: Kids as young as 10 can ride along, but they need to be accompanied by an adult. If they're smaller, they might have to ride with you or another adult. Just check the specific weight limit with the outfitter before you go!

Q: What if the weather's bad? Can we reschedule?

A: Yes! If the weather's not safe for the ride, they’ll let you know and you can reschedule for another day. Just give them a call ahead of time to confirm your new date!

Q: What should we wear? Is it dusty out there?

A: Definitely wear comfy clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dusty! Long pants and closed-toe shoes are best. And maybe a hat and sunscreen, especially in the summer. You’ll be out in the sun a lot!

What an incredible day in the desert!

Just got back from the Old West Adventure in Phoenix! The horseback riding through the cacti was so beautiful. Learning to throw the axe was a total surprise, and I actually got pretty good at it! Just remember, it can get really hot, so drink lots of water. Lunch was delicious too! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun day out.
