Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this tour? Can kids join?

A: Great question! This tour is family-friendly and there’s no strict age limit. Kids usually enjoy the stories about women in history. Just keep in mind some areas might be a bit more intense with the historical context, but overall it’s suitable for all ages. Make sure to bring some comfortable shoes as there’s a fair amount of walking!

Q: What should we wear for the walking tour? Any tips?

A: Comfort is key! I'd recommend wearing comfy sneakers since you'll be walking quite a bit through historic Williamsburg. Dress in layers because the weather can change quickly. A light jacket or sweater is great to bring along for the evening chill. And don’t forget sunblock if it’s a sunny day!

Q: What if it rains on the day of the tour? Do they cancel?

A: If it rains, they usually check the weather and can reschedule if it's too bad. It’s best to call ahead if the forecast looks sketchy. They’re pretty accommodating and want you to have a great experience! Bring an umbrella just in case, and wear waterproof shoes if you’re worried.

Thinking of gifting the 'A Woman's Place in History' tour — any thoughts?

Hey everyone! I’m considering getting this walking tour in Williamsburg for my mom’s birthday. She loves history, and I think the angle of focusing on women’s roles through the years is awesome! But I’m a bit worried about the walking part since she isn’t super active. Anyone know how strenuous it is? Also, how long do these tours usually last?

Wow, this tour was amazing! I learned so much about the women who shaped Williamsburg. The guide was super knowledgeable and the stories were captivating. The walk was about 2 hours, not too fast-paced, and the streets were beautiful. Perfect for anyone interested in history, or just looking for a unique experience!
