Q&A

Q: Is there a lot of walking involved during the Mount Vernon tour? My parents are in their 70s.

A: Yes, there is some walking involved at Mount Vernon, but it's manageable. The pathways are paved and mostly flat, and there's plenty of seating along the way. If your parents take it slow, they should be fine. Just make sure to dress comfortably and bring water!

Q: What should we wear for the evening DC Night Tour? Is it chilly?

A: It can get a bit chilly in the evening, especially near the monuments. I'd recommend wearing layers, like a light jacket or sweater. Comfortable shoes are a must since you'll be walking a bit during the night tour, too!

Q: Can we reschedule our tour if something comes up? How flexible is it?

A: Yes, you can usually reschedule with Astra Tours. Just make sure to contact them at least 48 hours in advance. They’re pretty accommodating, but it's good to double-check their policy when booking.

Just did the Afternoon Mount Vernon and Alexandria Tour—Amazing Experience!

Wow! I just got back from the Afternoon Mount Vernon and Alexandria Tour, and it was awesome! The tour guide was super knowledgeable, and walking through the mansion felt like stepping back in time. Old Town Alexandria is so charming! We had a nice little break near Union Station too, which was perfect for grabbing some snacks. The DC Night Tour afterward was just the cherry on top—seeing the monuments lit up at night was breathtaking. Totally recommend this as a gift for history lovers!

Considering gifting the Mount Vernon Tour to my parents—any thoughts?

Hey everyone! I’m thinking about getting the Afternoon Mount Vernon and Alexandria Tour for my parents. They love history but aren't super mobile. Do you think they’ll enjoy it? What did you all think about the pace? Also, how’s the food situation—do we get breaks for lunch or snacks?
