Q&A
A: Definitely dress in layers! It can get pretty chilly on the water, even in Monterey. A light jacket and some comfortable shoes are a good idea. Don’t forget your sunglasses and maybe a hat, too! If you can, check the weather forecast before you go.
A: No specific age limit noted, but kids usually enjoy it! Just make sure they can handle being out on the water and staying still for a bit. It’s also a good idea to check with Discovery Whale Watch to see if they have any recommendations for younger ones.
A: If the weather is bad, they typically reschedule you for another date or provide a full refund. It’s best to call Discovery Whale Watch directly to clarify their policy. Traffic can also be a pain, so make sure to leave early!

Considering the Afternoon Whale Watch in Monterey - Any tips?
Hey everyone! I'm thinking of gifting the Afternoon Whale Watch for my partner's birthday. I’ve heard great things about Discovery Whale Watch, especially for their smaller groups. Has anyone done this? How was the experience? Any must-dos while we're there?
Had an amazing time on the whale watch!
Just got back from the Afternoon Whale Watch in Carmel and wow, what an experience! We saw a bunch of humpbacks and even a couple of dolphins. The coffee was a nice touch too—definitely needed it early in the morning. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique gift!
