Q&A
A: There isn't a strict age limit, but kids generally love this ride! They should be able to sit in their seats comfortably for a few hours. Just keep in mind that there are some areas where the train might sway a bit, so younger ones might need a bit of extra supervision. Also, it's a good idea to book a window seat for the best views!
A: Layering is key! While the train is generally comfortable, you might want a light jacket or sweater, especially in the morning. As you get closer to Seward, it can get a bit chilly, particularly if you’re planning to do a wildlife cruise afterward. Don't forget comfortable shoes since you'll probably be walking around Seward too!
A: Yes, you can reschedule! Just make sure to do it at least 48 hours in advance, and you'll be good to go. The Alaska Railroad is pretty accommodating, but it's best to check the official policy in case of any updates. If you book through a third-party, they might have their own rules, so read the fine print!

Just booked the Anchorage to Seward train ride! Any tips?
So I just grabbed tickets for the Coastal Classic Train ride next month, and I’m stoked! I heard the views are insane, especially the glaciers and waterfalls. I'm thinking of doing the wildlife cruise in Seward after. Any advice on what to bring or what to do while we wait in Seward?
Had the best time on the train to Seward!
Just got back from the Anchorage to Seward train experience, and wow, it did not disappoint! The scenery was jaw-dropping, especially in Turnagain Arm. We even saw some sea otters! Seward is adorable too. Totally recommend the wildlife cruise – saw humpback whales and icy glaciers. If you’re thinking about doing this, just do it!
