Q&A

Q: Are there any age limits for kids on this wildlife safari tour?

A: Great question! The Alaska Wildlife Safari doesn’t have strict age limits, but they recommend it for kids aged 5 and up for the best experience. Younger kiddos are welcome too, but just make sure they're able to enjoy the ride and the sights. It’s a pretty comfortable tour for families!

Q: What should we wear for the tour? Is it cold in Ketchikan?

A: In Ketchikan, layers are your best friend! Even in summer, it can get chilly and rainy, so wear a waterproof jacket and sturdy shoes. Also, bring a hat and sunglasses for when the sun peeks through. You might be sitting outside for part of the tour, so comfort is key!

Q: How's the parking situation at the tour start?

A: There’s pretty decent parking at the tour start point in Ketchikan. It can fill up during peak tourist season, though, so it’s best to arrive a little early. Also, there may be some free parking options nearby if you don’t mind a short walk. Just keep an eye out for the signs!

Just got back from the Alaska Wildlife Safari! Here’s my take!

I just did the Alaska Wildlife Safari in Ketchikan, and WOW, it was amazing! We saw bears at Herring Cove and all sorts of marine life at Rotary Beach. The salmon run was such a sight to see! Plus, the lunch with smoked salmon was delish. If you're heading there, definitely take your camera. You won't want to miss capturing the totem poles at Saxman Native Village too!
