Q&A
A: The class is open to all ages, but I’d recommend it for kids 10 and up. They’ll get more out of the experience and can safely handle the cooking tasks with supervision. Just check with the host if you have younger kids, they might be able to accommodate in a special way!
A: You might want to wear something comfortable that you don’t mind getting a bit messy. Aprons are provided, but salmon can splatter a bit! Closed-toe shoes are a good idea too since you’ll be on your feet.
A: It usually runs rain or shine, unless it’s really severe weather. The Local Table hosts have some flexibility in rescheduling, but you’ll want to check their policy when booking. Always good to call ahead if you’re worried about the forecast!

Just did the Alaskan Salmon Cooking Class and it was AMAZING!
I recently took the Alaskan Salmon Cooking Class in Ketchikan and wow, what a treat! Our host was super knowledgeable about salmon and local fishing. I learned how to prep and cook salmon like a pro! We also got to enjoy our delicious meal together after. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Ketchikan. It was worth every penny!
