Enjoy two Classic Same Day San Francisco experiences — a visit inside Alcatraz Island and a two hour round trip non Stop Express city tour excursion by selected open air buses/van/Tuk-tuks from Fisherman’s Wharf. Guests will start their day with our express tour then take an assigned time ferry ride to Alcatraz and on the SAME day. Guests will be allotted enough time in between to comfortably walk and both attractions. No frills! Just thrills! Our basic tour is designed to be an optional economical introduction to the city for those in a hurry! This experience does not offer any stops with re-entry with this package. Guests will be assigned to either an Alcatraz/afternoon City Tour or Morning City Tour/afternoon Alcatraz based on our reserved voucher times. Guests will be required to meet a check in agent for their bus portion of this event. Guests do not need to take the city tour portion if they only want to complete Alcatraz.

Q&A

Q: Is there a specific age limit for kids to go on the Alcatraz tour?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids should be old enough to enjoy the tour and not get bored. Most families take kids over 5 years old, but it’s really up to you. Just keep in mind that the ferry ride can be a bit rocky, so if your child is sensitive to that, maybe consider a different option.

Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of the tour? Can we reschedule?

A: Refunds or rescheduling options depend on the provider's policy. Typically, if there’s a cancellation due to severe weather, they'll offer a reschedule for another day. Just make sure to check their fine print when booking. Also, it’s a good idea to call ahead if you suspect the weather might be an issue.

Q: How much time should we plan for each portion of the tour?

A: You should budget about 2-3 hours for the city tour, and then plan for about 2 hours for Alcatraz, including the ferry ride. They give you enough time to grab a bite before each part, but keep an eye on your watch! Also, the audio tour at Alcatraz is pretty engaging, so factor that in.

Has anyone done the Alcatraz and City Tour Express? Need tips!

I'm thinking about gifting this experience to my parents since they're visiting SF. They love history, and I think the combo of the city tour and Alcatraz would be awesome! How's the timing? Is there enough time to enjoy both? Any tips for making the day smoother?

Thinking of getting the Alcatraz experience as a gift, any advice?

I've been looking at the Alcatraz and City Tour Express package. I want it to be special but also not too overwhelming for my dad who’s not super mobile. How easy is it to navigate and are there places to sit during the tours?
