Guests will be returned to San Francisco by van or included ferry on select dates. VIP James Woods Road Trip Upgrade: Muir Woods Express plus bonus time in Sausalito with brunch credit. Guests will be returned to Wharf by van or ferry. Some dates will start by Sausalito Ferry then Muir Woods/ Golden Gate. Early Bird: Get there before the crowds do! A: There's no strict age limit, but kids must be able to follow directions and enjoy the walking involved at Muir Woods and Alcatraz. I took my 8-year-old last month, and he had a blast! Just be mindful that they might get tired walking around the island.

A: I’d recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early to find parking and get settled. Fisherman’s Wharf can be busy, so plan ahead! There are parking garages nearby, but they can fill up fast. Just be ready to walk a bit!

Just got back from the Alcatraz and Muir Woods tour!

OMG, you guys! I just did the Alcatraz Muir Woods Express and it was AMAZING! We started super early, and I'm glad we did because Muir Woods was so peaceful before the crowds showed up. The narration was cool, especially learning about the Alcatraz escape attempts. Only downside was the timing—wish we had more time at Muir Woods! Definitely recommend it for anyone.
