Q&A
A: If you're looking to dodge the crowds, try booking for the earliest time slot, like 8:30 AM. You'll get the Alcatraz audio tour done before it gets too busy, and then you can enjoy Sausalito with fewer people around. Plus, you’ll have plenty of time to explore and grab a nice brunch!
A: There aren’t any strict age limits for this tour! It’s suitable for most ages, but keep in mind that younger kids might not enjoy the Alcatraz audio tour as much. I’d say it’s great for teenagers and adults. Just make sure everyone can handle some walking around the island.
A: Dress in layers! It can get chilly on the ferry, especially if it’s windy. A light jacket is perfect. Also, comfy shoes are a must since you’ll be doing some walking around Alcatraz and Sausalito. I wore sneakers and was super glad I did!

Thinking about gifting the Alcatraz Sausalito tour — any tips?
I’m considering getting the Alcatraz Sausalito Express as a gift for my parents. They love history and good food, so I think it’d be perfect! Can anyone share their experiences? Is the food option worth it? How’s the vibe in Sausalito?
Just got back from Alcatraz and Sausalito — what an awesome day!
Did this tour last week and I can’t recommend it enough! The ferry ride was smooth, and exploring Alcatraz was super interesting. Sausalito had great shops and restaurants. We spent our two hours there just soaking it all in. The views from the Golden Gate stop were a bonus! Honestly, book it, you won’t regret it.
