Q&A
A: There’s no strict age limit for the tour, but it's more suited for kids aged 8 and up since the Alcatraz audio tour has some intense stories. As for strollers, Muir Woods has some paved paths, but it can be challenging in certain areas. I'd recommend a carrier for younger kids to make it easier on the trails!
A: The trails vary in difficulty. Most of the main paths are pretty accessible and relatively flat, making it doable for seniors. Just be aware that some side trails can be steep, so stick to the main routes for a more comfortable experience.
A: Rain doesn't usually cancel the whole tour since Muir Woods is still accessible, but they might adjust the Alcatraz part if conditions are really bad. Best bet is to check the weather and contact customer service for updates, just to be safe!

Just did the Alcatraz and Muir Woods tour — wow!
I just got back from the Alcatraz with Muir Woods and Sausalito tour, and it was amazing! We did the day tour, starting at 8:30am and the van was really nice. Muir Woods was breathtaking, and walking among those giant redwoods felt surreal. Alcatraz was so cool too, the audio tour really brought the history to life. If you’re thinking of getting this as a gift, do it! My partner loved it!
Thinking of giving this tour as a gift for my parents!
I’m considering the night tour of Alcatraz combined with Muir Woods and Sausalito for my parents' anniversary. They love history and nature, but I’m worried they’ll be too tired after a long day. Has anyone done this combo before? What’s the vibe like?
