Guests get to discover in an alternate reality our favorite hidden gems off the beaten trail and creatively interpret fun art, history, and culture clues - for points! They get to enjoy fame and glory while appearing on our website’s international leaderboard, no matter what their score. They get to essentially race other teams in other cities, even if they don’t have competitors who have signed up in their city that day. Q: Is there an age limit for participating in the scavenger hunt on Catalina Island?

A: There's no strict age limit, but it’s definitely geared more towards teens and adults since the clues can be a bit challenging. Kids can join as part of a team, but you may want to have an adult helping them out. The interactive guide is pretty fun for all ages though!

Q: How does rescheduling work if the weather is bad?

A: If the weather is really bad, you can absolutely reschedule! Just contact Alley Kat Adventures, and they’ll help you pick a new date. I’ve done it once, and they were super flexible. Just keep an eye on the weather forecast when planning!

Q: What should we wear for the scavenger hunt? Is it outdoors a lot?

A: Definitely dress for the outdoors! Most of the hunt happens outside exploring the island’s hidden spots. Comfortable walking shoes and layers are key since it can get breezy. Don’t forget sunscreen! Also, a hat helps with the sun while you’re hunting down clues.

Just did the scavenger hunt on Catalina Island, so much fun!

I recently took part in the Amazing Avalon CA Scavenger Hunt with some friends, and it was a blast! We explored spots we never would’ve found on our own, like this quirky little art installation near the beach. The live guide through the app was super engaging and really made the experience unique.
