Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on the whale watching tour?

A: There isn't a strict age limit for the whale watching tour, but it's best for kids who are at least 5 years old. The boat can be a bit rocky at times, so younger kids might need some supervision and a bit more patience. Just make sure they’re dressed warmly and ready for a fun adventure!

Q: What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of the tour?

A: If the weather is too rough for safety, they’ll reschedule your tour or offer a refund. Make sure to check their cancellation policy before booking. It’s always good to have a backup plan if you’re coming from out of town.

Q: What's the best time of year to see whales in Sitka?

A: The best time to see whales in Sitka is between May and September. Humpback whales are often spotted during these months as they migrate to feed in the rich waters. Early summer is great for whale watching, plus you might see sea lions and otters along the way!

Thinking about booking the whale watching tour for my family!

I’m planning a trip to Sitka and came across this Amazing Whale Watching tour. It’s 2 hours long and includes a local guide, which I think is pretty cool. I really want my kids to see some whales in their natural habitat. Has anyone done this? How was the experience? Any tips for what to bring?

Can't decide on the whale watching tour for my husband’s birthday!

I’m torn between this whale watching experience and something more relaxing like a spa day. My hubby loves nature and wildlife though, so I think he’d really enjoy this! Has anyone surprised a partner with this? How did it go?
