Q&A

Q: Are there any age restrictions for kids at the museum?

A: No specific age restrictions for kids! The museum is super family-friendly. They even have special programs and activities for younger children, so it’s a great spot for all ages. Just make sure to keep an eye on little ones around the dinosaur displays, they can get a bit overwhelming!

Q: How do the ticketed exhibitions work? Do I need to reserve in advance?

A: Yes, for ticketed exhibitions like the Butterfly Vivarium or the Hayden Planetarium show, it's a good idea to reserve in advance. They get super popular! You can select a timed entry when you purchase, which helps avoid long lines. Otherwise, general admission is first come, first served for the permanent exhibits.

Q: What should I wear? Is there a lot of walking involved?

A: Comfortable shoes are a must! You’ll be doing a lot of walking. The museum is huge, and you might cover several miles if you explore everything. Dress in layers too, since some exhibits can be chilly while others are warmer. No fancy clothes needed, just casual and comfy!

Thinking about gifting the Natural History Museum tickets. Thoughts?

I’m considering buying the admission tickets for my parents as an anniversary gift. They love science and history! I saw that they get access to the Rose Center and can even check out the Butterfly Vivarium. Anyone know how busy it gets on weekends? I want them to have a good experience without too much crowd. Also, what’s the best time to go?

Just came back from the museum! What an experience!

I visited the American Museum of Natural History last week, and wow, it was amazing! The dinosaur skeletons were a highlight for me, and the Rose Center blew my mind! I got the general admission + one ticketed exhibition for the Hayden Planetarium show. Highly recommend! Just remember to buy tickets in advance. It can get overwhelming, but so worth it!
