This is the longest-running northern lights photo tour in the Anchorage area. We pick you up at your Anchorage accommodations and take you on a nocturnal adventure to witness the beauty of the Alaskan night sky. It's a great option for any travelers to Alaska during August to late April. This tour accommodates serious photographers to sightseers. We conduct a daily update that includes both the aurora borealis and weather forecast. The tour runs based on that forecast, but runs only if the forecast indicates a chance of seeing the aurora. Because both weather and the aurora borealis are natural phenomena, we cannot guarantee seeing the northern lights. This tour increases your chance of aurora viewing success by allowing you to reserve as many nights as you like [space available] and only finalizing payment 48 hours in advance under the Reserve Now & Pay Later system. If you do not see the northern lights during your tour, you get a free make-up tour.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this northern lights tour?

A: There’s no strict age limit for the tour, but it's best for kids who can handle late-night outings. They should be old enough to stay awake and enjoy the experience! Just remember to dress them warmly since it can get really cold during the tour.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad and we can't see the northern lights?

A: If the forecast shows a low chance of seeing the aurora, the tour will be rescheduled. Plus, if you don't see the lights during your tour, you get a free make-up tour! It's a great way to increase your chances of actually catching the northern lights.

Q: What should I wear for this tour? Is it really cold?

A: Definitely dress in layers! The temperatures can drop significantly at night, especially in the colder months. Wear good thermal layers, a warm coat, gloves, and a hat. It’s also a good idea to have sturdy boots if you’ll be walking around in the snow.

Just did the Anchorage Aurora Tour! Absolutely amazing!

I just got back from the Anchorage Aurora Tour and wow, it was incredible! The guides really know their stuff and even though we had to reschedule because of clouds, they made it super easy. We finally got to see the northern lights, and the photos are stunning! The snacks were a nice touch, too. If you’re thinking about this as a gift, I’d say go for it!

Considering gifting the Aurora Tour for my boyfriend's birthday!

I’m thinking about gifting the Anchorage Aurora Tour to my boyfriend for his birthday this October. He loves photography and has always wanted to see the northern lights. Just wondering if anyone has tips on how to make the experience even better for him?
