Q&A

Q: What should I wear for the helicopter flight? Is it cold up there?

A: Definitely dress in layers! While it's kind of warm in Anchorage, it gets chilly up in the air, especially when you're flying over glaciers. A light jacket and closed-toe shoes are recommended. Don't forget your camera and sunglasses too — the glare off the ice can be strong!

Q: Are there any age restrictions for the helicopter ride?

A: There are no specific age restrictions, but kids under 2 can fly for free on a parent's lap. Just make sure any younger children are comfortable with flying. I've seen families with kids as young as 5 on the tour, and they loved it!

Q: What if the weather's bad? Can we reschedule easily?

A: Weather in Alaska can be unpredictable, but Alpine Air is pretty flexible! If there’s bad weather, you can reschedule for a different day without an issue. Just keep an eye on the forecast leading up to your flight!

Just booked the Anchorage Helicopter Flightseeing Tour!

I’m so excited! Just snagged the 30-min helicopter tour with Alpine Air Alaska for next weekend. I've heard the views of the glaciers and mountains are incredible! I’m hoping to catch some wildlife too. Anyone have tips for the best camera settings to use while up there? This is my first time flying in a helicopter!

Just did the Anchorage Helicopter Tour and WOW!

I went on the flightseeing tour last week, and it was absolutely mind-blowing! The views of the glaciers and Chugach mountains were unreal. We saw a moose and some mountain goats! My advice is to bring a warm jacket and don’t forget your camera! The whole experience was worth every penny!
