This unique Alaskan experience is the only one of its kind offered in the Anchorage area.  Get out and enjoy the beauty of Alaska!  On a clear day we'll see as many as four mountain ranges in Southcentral Alaska, We'll spend our time on a small frozen lake in the Anchorage area.  Using the latest electric ice auger, guests can help drill through anywhere between 6 inches to 3 feet thick ice.  At times we'll see fish swimming below, either while looking through an 8-inch hole in the ice, or using technology to watch fish move below on sonar images on a depth finder.  At times we may fish with jigs or spoons, at other times, hooks, bait and a bobber.  We'll often see moose in the woods around town or at the edge of the lake.  Bald eagles often watch from the trees nearby, looking for a free meal.  Relax and enjoy the fishing, we'll take care of all the messy work and heavy lifting - except perhaps lifting the heaviest fish of the day from the water!

Q&A

Q: Can you reschedule if the weather is bad on the day we plan to go ice fishing?

A: Yes, you can definitely reschedule if the weather doesn't cooperate. The guides will keep an eye on conditions and usually let you know a few days in advance if changes need to be made. Just reach out to them directly, and they'll help you find a new date that works!

Q: Is there an age limit for this ice fishing experience?

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but it’s best suited for kids aged 7 and up since they need to follow directions and handle equipment. Just check with the provider if you’re bringing younger kids to see if they can accommodate them safely.

Q: What should we wear for ice fishing in Anchorage? Any tips?

A: Definitely layer up! Wear thermal base layers, a good waterproof outer layer, and insulated gloves and boots. Don't forget a warm hat since it can get windy out there. Also, sunglasses can help with the glare off the ice.

The idea of fishing on a frozen lake and possibly seeing moose and eagles sounds amazing! Anyone done this before? What was the experience like, and how was the transportation from the hotel?
