Q&A
A: You can definitely adjust your winery choices, but it’s best to call ahead to the new places to ensure they can accommodate you. Remember, if it's a same-day change, some wineries might not have availability, so it’s good to plan ahead when you can. Your driver will also need time to adjust the route, so just keep that in mind!
A: Fall is definitely the prime time to hit up the Apple Hill wineries since the leaves are changing and harvest is in full swing! However, spring is also lovely with blooming flowers. Just check the winery schedules, especially in winter as some may close or have limited hours. Overall, both seasons have their charm!
A: The wine tasting tour is generally open to those 21 and older since it's focused on wine tasting. However, younger family members can join the tour if they're accompanied by an adult. Just double-check with the wineries you plan to visit as some may have their own policies too.

Thinking of gifting an Apple Hill wine tour for my parents' anniversary!
Hey everyone! I’m considering the customized wine tasting tour around Apple Hill for my parents' 30th anniversary. They love wine and have never done a private tour before! I’m curious if anyone has done it and what wineries you recommend. Also, how was the overall experience? Any tips for making it special?
Just did the Placerville wine tasting tour! Amazing experience!
I recently did the Placerville wine tasting tour with some friends and OMG it was such a blast! We picked four wineries, and our guide was awesome. I’d recommend checking out the El Dorado wineries. They had the best scenery! Just remember to wear comfy shoes – you will be walking a lot. Worth every penny!
