Q&A
A: Definitely layer up! It can get really chilly at night, especially when you're up on that ridge. Wear thermal base layers, a good winter jacket, gloves, and a beanie. If you’re planning to spend a lot of time outside, make sure your boots are warm and waterproof. You can always sip on the hot cocoa inside the cozy cabin to warm up between views!
A: Kids of all ages are welcome! Just keep in mind, young ones might get tired or cold quickly, so it's good to plan for short viewing times outside. The cabin is super cozy with hot drinks, so that’s a nice spot for little ones to warm up while you wait for the auroras. Just make sure to bring some extra snacks for them since they might get hungry!
A: The auroras are natural, so they can’t guarantee them, and they don’t offer refunds if you don’t see them. They still run the tours even if the lights aren’t out, which could be disappointing. However, the experience itself is really special, and the cozy cabin with the snacks makes it worth it. If you’re flexible and enjoy the outdoors, you’ll have fun regardless!

What an unforgettable night at the Aurora Husky Lodge!
I just got back from the aurora viewing at the Aurora Husky Lodge, and wow, what a night! It’s just a short drive from Fairbanks, and the views from the ridge are absolutely breathtaking. We didn’t see the aurora, but the stars were so beautiful, and the cabin was super cozy with unlimited hot cocoa. I highly recommend the extra photography package—the photos they took are amazing! Definitely a unique experience!
Looking for gift ideas? This aurora experience is top-notch!
I'm thinking of gifting this aurora viewing experience to my parents for their anniversary. They love nature and have always wanted to see the northern lights! I read that the views from the ridge are fantastic, and the cozy cabin with hot drinks sounds perfect for them. Does anyone know the best time to go or if there are any specific tips?
