Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this food tour? Can kids join?

A: Yes, kids can definitely join! There's no strict age limit, but it's recommended for ages 10 and up since it's a walking tour and includes some foodie details that older kids might appreciate. Just keep in mind that they might not be able to finish all the BBQ, haha. It's a great way to introduce them to Austin's food scene!

Q: How long does the tour usually take? Are we able to reschedule if needed?

A: The tour typically lasts around 2-3 hours, depending on the group. If you need to reschedule, they’re generally pretty accommodating as long as you give them a heads up at least 24 hours in advance. Just shoot them an email or call, and they’ll help you out!

Q: What should we wear for the tour? Is there any walking involved?

A: Definitely wear comfy shoes since there’s quite a bit of walking involved! Dress for the weather as well, since you’ll be outside at times. Layers are a good idea, especially if you go in the evening when it cools down. No need to dress up—just casual and ready for BBQ!

Just got back from the Austin BBQ tour—so good!

I just did the Austin Downtown Food Tour last weekend and it was amazing! We started at Merit Coffee and our guide was super knowledgeable. The brisket at Terry Black’s was out of this world! Plus, the peach cobbler at the last stop in Seaholm was the perfect finish. Definitely a great way to see the city while eating some killer food. Would recommend to anyone visiting Austin!

Thinking of gifting the BBQ tour—any recommendations?

I’m considering getting the Austin BBQ food tour for my boyfriend's birthday. He loves BBQ and exploring new places! I’m wondering if it’s a good idea for someone who doesn’t usually walk a lot. Also, do they have vegetarian options? Any advice would be appreciated!
