Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on the Amish tour?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but it’s really best for kids who can sit through a meal and follow along with the guide. I took my 8-year-old and they loved it! Just make sure they know to be respectful and quiet during the meal.

Q: What should we wear for the Amish meal?

A: You should dress modestly out of respect for the Amish community. Think comfortable, casual clothes that aren’t too flashy. Avoid shorts and sleeveless tops, especially for women. It’s best to look respectful – I wore a nice sundress and it felt perfect!

Q: What happens if the weather's bad on the day of the tour?

A: If the weather's bad, they typically will contact you about rescheduling. It's always a good idea to check their cancellation policy when you book, just in case. I had to reschedule due to rain and they were really accommodating about it!

Just went on the Amish tour and it was amazing!

I recently did the Authentic Tour & Meal with the Amish in Lancaster, and wow, what an experience! Our guide was super friendly and shared so much rich history about the Amish culture. The meal was served in a cozy home; the food was delicious, and they even had vegetarian options for my partner! Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a unique gift or family outing.

Considering this Amish meal tour as a gift – any advice?

I’m thinking of gifting the Authentic Tour & Meal with the Amish to my sister and her husband. They love trying new things! Has anyone done this yet? What’s the best part about the experience? Also, any tips for first-timers?
