Q&A
A: There's no strict age limit, but since it involves cooking and potentially sharp tools, I'd say it's best for teens and adults. Kids can come, but they should be supervised. Just make sure they're okay with the whole shrimp peeling process too!
A: Yes, it’s outdoors along Shem Creek! Wear something comfortable and maybe a hat, since you’ll be in the sun. Closed-toe shoes are a good idea since you'll be near seafood and the cooking area. And don’t forget your appetite!
A: Yes! If the weather isn't looking good, Captain Bryan will reach out to you ahead of time to reschedule. They’re pretty flexible and want everyone to enjoy the experience without worrying about rain. Just keep an eye on your emails!

Just did the shrimp boil on Shem Creek – amazing experience!
I went to the Backyard Shrimp Boil with Captain Bryan last week, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in Charleston! The location right on the creek is stunning, and Captain Bryan is super knowledgeable. We made ceviche and then had a shrimp peeling contest. Ended up eating a ton of delicious shrimp, sausage, and corn. My friends and I are planning to make this a yearly thing.
Thinking about gifting the shrimp boil experience!
I’m looking to get my parents a unique gift, and the Backyard Shrimp Boil on Shem Creek seems perfect! They love cooking and seafood, but I’m a bit worried about them managing the shrimp peeling. Is it really easy? How long does it take?
