San Diego offers world class fishing, inshore and offshore, from the novice looking to catch their first fish to the trophy hunter looking to set a personal best record. Inshore fishing trips are shorter and focus on the bay and kelp beds targeting the various types of bass found in our local waters including halibut and bass. During the late summer months, there is even the chance for some pelagic fish like Yellowtail and Bonito. Fishing in San Diego Bay is a great, outdoor activity for the family, that will make lasting memories any time of the year. The boat provides a large, stable platform for fishing with plenty of extra room to relax , take in the views, or just watch while others try their luck fishing for the big one. The classic trawler has a comfortable enclosed cabin for protection from the elements, a full size bathroom, and room to relax or take a nap. All the fishing gear is included. Drinks and snacks are provided. All charters can be customized upon request.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on the Bay Fishing Charter?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but they recommend children be at least 5 years old for safety and enjoyment. The crew is great with kids, and they can help with the gear! Just be sure to check if the weather is good for little ones. It’s a super fun way for families to bond!

Q: What should I wear for the charter? Is it chilly out on the water?

A: Dress in layers! It can be chilly in the morning but warms up as the day goes on. A light jacket is a good idea, especially if you’re going out early. Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat for protection. The boat has a cabin, but you might want something comfortable while fishing!

Q: How do rescheduling and cancellations work if the weather's bad?

A: If the weather looks bad, they’ll reach out to you to discuss rescheduling. They’re pretty flexible, and it’s best to call them directly. You can usually pick another day, or they might offer a refund if you can’t make it. Just keep an eye on the forecast!

Thinking about booking the Bay Fishing Charter for my dad's birthday!

Hey everyone! I’m planning to get my dad a Bay Fishing Charter for his birthday! He loves fishing but hasn’t been in a while, and I think this would be perfect. I read that they target bass and maybe even some Yellowtail during summer. Has anyone been on this trip? How was the experience? Any tips?

Just did the Bay Fishing Charter – it was an epic day!

Wow, what an experience! We went out last weekend, and I caught my first halibut! The boat was really comfortable, and the snacks they provided were a nice touch. I was a bit worried about being seasick, but the ride was smooth. Overall, it was a great day on the water!
