Ever been interested in trying your hand at blowing glass? Join me in my flameworking studio and learn how to make your first piece of glass art with us! Borosilicate glass blowing is a unique art that uses a table-mounted torch to melt and manipulate glass. While more niche than traditional glass blowing, this type of flameworking offers participants a unique, hands-on artistic experience. Each student will be equipped with their own torch and will make several glass pieces with support from Brahim.

Q&A

Q: What should I wear to the glass blowing lesson? Is it a messy activity?

A: You definitely want to wear something comfortable but also protect your clothes. Sturdy pants and a cotton shirt are best. They provide a bit of heat protection since glass can get pretty hot! Closed-toe shoes are a must, too. And don’t worry about the mess, Brahim has everything covered with safety gear.

Q: Is this suitable for kids? What’s the age limit?

A: It's recommended for ages 13 and up since it involves some safety equipment and tools. But if a younger child is interested, they can participate with a parent or guardian. It’s a great way to get creative together!

Q: Can you reschedule if something comes up? What’s the policy?

A: Yes, you can reschedule! Just make sure to give at least 48 hours notice. It’s super flexible, which is great if plans suddenly change. They’ll work with you to find a new date that fits your schedule.

I made a bowl and a small figurine, and I can't believe I actually did it! Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a unique gift. Just be ready to pay attention during the safety stuff—it’s for real.
