Q&A
A: Yes, the beginner surf lesson is typically for ages 10 and up. Kids under 10 need to be accompanied by an adult who can also participate. It’s a great way to bond while learning! Just make sure they’re comfortable in the water.
A: If the conditions are unsafe due to weather, they'll reschedule the class. You'll get a notification about it, so no worries! Just keep an eye on the forecast, and they’re usually pretty flexible.
A: It’s best to wear a swimsuit under a wetsuit, which they'll provide. Sunscreen is a must, and if you have water shoes, bring those! Just know it can be chilly even in summer, so layer up if needed.

Thinking about gifting a surf lesson in Santa Cruz!
I’m considering getting my boyfriend a beginner surf lesson at Santa Cruz. He’s always wanted to try surfing but hasn’t had the chance. The price is amazing ($0.00, right?)! I'm just curious if it’s suitable for someone who's never been on a board before? Also, how long does the lesson actually last? Any tips would be appreciated!
Just did the beginner surf lesson in Santa Cruz!
I just got back from the beginner surf lesson, and it was epic! The instructors were super chill and helpful. They really break down the basics, and I actually caught a couple of waves. The location is gorgeous too! If you’re on the fence, just do it! I’m thinking of going back to improve my skills.
