Q&A
A: There's no strict age limit, but I'd say it's best for kids around 8 and up. Captain Bryan does a great job keeping everyone engaged, but younger ones might get a bit restless. Just make sure they can walk for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Plus, it’s a cool way for them to learn about local culture!
A: Comfortable shoes are a must since you'll be walking a good bit on sidewalks. Dress for the weather, too! If it's summer, lightweight clothes and sunscreen are key. Even in cooler months, layering is smart since it can get breezy by the water.
A: They’re pretty flexible with rescheduling! If the weather looks rough, just reach out to them ahead of time, and they'll help you set up a new date. It’s definitely worth checking since you don’t want to miss Captain Bryan’s stories!

Just did the Shem Creek shrimp tour with Captain Bryan – amazing!
I went on the Shem Creek shrimp walking tour last weekend and it was so much fun! Captain Bryan is hilarious and super knowledgeable about the shrimping industry. We learned about the history of the area and got to see the boats in action. The small prize at the end was a nice touch too! Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Charleston.
Thinking of gifting the Shem Creek tour – any tips?
I'm considering gifting the Shem Creek shrimp tour for my parents' anniversary since they love learning about local cultures. Has anyone done this tour? Is it easy to walk for older folks? Any tips on making it special?
